Takky won't start

Hi all.

I have a Takky that was working fine right up until yesterday. I went to turn it on in the morning and it just "clicked." I tried several more times, checked the power switch, powerplug, reseated everything on the board, replaced the clock battery and it still just "clicked." I tried again in the afternoon, but this time I took the board out and disconnected everything, pressed the reset button and let it sit for 20min or so.

When I put everything back together and turned it on, it still "clicked" - but then it lit up and turned on after a couple seconds. Everything seemed to function normal after that. I even restarted and shut it down and it came right back up. But this morning it was back to just "clicking" even after repeating the steps from yesterday. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

The only thing I am really aw

The only thing I am really aware of in electronics that click are relays. The contacts in relays can click. I don't know if the analog board has any relays but you might have a relay that is dying if there is one. Sorry I'm not any greater help to you.

I put my ear to it and...

The clicking is actually coming from the Color Classic's speaker so I don't think it's a relay - but thanks for the suggestion!

Could it be a bad power supply? I was under the impression that if it was a bad PS, it would not make any noise of any kind. But I can hear the CRT charge up when I flip the power switch. Any thoughts?

EDIT: Fixed grammar

Update:

I randomly tried to power it on again today - and it worked! But because I want it to be reliable, I shut it off and tried again. No boot, just a CRT charge up when the power switch on the back is flipped and a click from the speakers when the keyboard power key is pressed.

Back to square one... *sigh*

My first (actually, it was my

My first (actually, it was my wifes...) Color Classic had trouble powering up consistently- sometimes one had to pound repeatedly on the power-up key and hope it would eventually turn on. Don't know why it did this, but I think it also did the speaker click so it might be the same.
