I recently got rid of my Apple IIe Platinum in order to make more room. I now have only my trusty Apple IIc. I had a Z80 card for the IIe that allowed me to run CP/M 2.23 and above. I'd like to do the same for Apple IIc, but there are no expansion slots. I heard there is a way to run CP/M on the Apple IIc that involves some sort of additional hardware, but I've not read this since 1999 and since don't have the luck of finding the info again.
If someone can explain the procedure to me, I'd be happy. Thanks.
That may depend on what revision of the Apple IIc you have. If you have the original IIc, you're easiest option is an Applied Engineering Z-RAM Ultra III, which is fairly hard to come by. Your best bet is to find one on eBay or try comp.sys.apple2.marketplace on usenet. There was one on eBay recently, a week or two ago.
I don't know if the Z-RAM Ultra boards work with the later IIc models (UniDisk and memory expansion) or not.
There is a picture of one here...

Thanks! Now that I have the product name to go on, I can do my research. My Apple IIc is the most recent model, as it was purchased in 1987 and I did the test in Applesoft that determines the model # and it came back with the newest answer.
