Wired4DVD problem

Does anyone have any idea why the "DVD Station" player program for my Wired4DVD card won't open. I've got two partitions, each with OS 9.1, on my harddrive in my PM 9600. One partition is my main system, and the other is a system I use for running utilities. When I try DVD Station in the utilities system it runs fine, but when I switch back to my main system the DVD Station program will not open. Both systems have identical Wired4DVD extension and software. I've got the Wired4DVD PCI card hooked up to an ATI XClaim VR 128 card. I did a reinstall of the whole OS 9.1, and I also tried just uninstalling the ATI drivers and software, but still no luck. I can't figure out where the conflict is, and why it works in one OS 9.1 and not the other. Thanks

Wired4DVDLib

Make sure that the Wired4DVDLib is in either the same folder as the DVD Station application or in the Extensions folder.

It is easier if you just keep that library in the same folder as the DVD station application.

What version of the software are you using?

1.2.8f

I'm using 1.2.8f which I got here:
ftp://ftp.wiredinc.com/support/oldsoftware/
It's also got the WiredStream mpeg player. Yep, I've got a copy of the lib in the extensions and also one in the folder. I've tried restarting without the extension loaded, and also tried without the extension in the folder.
When I click on the DVD station icon it does the flaring brackets to the edge of the screen like any application does when it's opening, and for a blink the menu bar says DVD Station in the middle, but then it just instantly returns to Finder. It's strange that it does this in this OS 9and not in the other. What would computers be without all these little surprises around every corner?

Try removing the Wired4DVD Prefs

Have you tried removing the Wired4DVD Prefs from the Preferences folder? Perhaps they have become corrupted.

Terrific!!!

You hit the nail on the head! There were two Wired4DVD Prefs in the Preferences folder, so I trashed both and opened up the DVD Station and it works fine. THANK YOU!!!
