wouldn't mind the rom simm if it has one.
Ive heard about those...but I have absolutly no idea what it looks like...

Hey,
Be advised that not all IIsi's have removeable ROM SIMMs. It's a large -- compared to RAM -- rectangular chip that fits into a slot and stands upright on the mobo. Just remember that you may not be able to find it because it may not be there.

Here is a screenshot of the motherboard - the rom slot is just after the ram on the left hand side, and is marked by the words "ROM SIMM".

There is a good chance it won't have one at all (I think it should have the slot for a rom simm, but it may not be populated). Thought I'd check just in case though.
BTW: failing this, if anyone else has a iifx/iisi rom simm handy for me to grab, it'd be much appreciated.
Sorry, the slot is empty. I know it boots up without the simm on the board though.
Why did Apple include a slot when it was not needed? What does the Rom simm do?
