G3 AIO (G4/4xx) to an Emate

I tried all day yesterday to link (or dock) my Emate to my upgraded G3 AIO with a serial cable. One end in the printer or modem port and the other in the Emate. I loaded 3 different pieces of software. Either from my UNNA cd's or the cd that came from the Emate cd. None of them worked. The Emate could not see the AIO.

What do you guys use to connect (hardware and software) the Emate to your macs?

Did the G4 upgrade knock out the serial port on the AIO?

Is my Emate serial port bad, is this a common problem with Emates?

Any help?

Thanks.

I fixed this part. Don't ask me how. Today I tried it again and clicked the Dock icon and bam I was connected. Who knows?

I can connect to my isp but unsuccessful with NetHopper and Eudora.

So today I was hoping people would chime in and tell me "what you use your eMate for"? I am not a writer so I won't be using it for that.

Thank you.
