Pismo wont come out of sleep

I love my new pismo, its the powerbook of my dreams. I just have one problem with it, IT WONT COME OUT OF SLEEP!!!!! I've reset the power manager multupile times, it will fix it once then...ZAP! It does it again. I've also reset the pram and still no avail. What can I do? Can I just disable sleep on lid close?

Have you tried re-installing

Have you tried re-installing whatever OS is on the drive? That can often remedy sleeping issues. Make sure you have a back up copy of any hard-to-find driver files, and all your personal documents, as there is a potential for data loss when reinstalling an Operating System.

Cheers,

more details . . .

such as RAM qty, HD model, OS installed, CPU speed, etc. Using an external KB? Battery(s) installed? Optical drive in the expansion bay?

try googling this string "powerbook pismo sleep wake problem"

I wasn't patient enough to find your answer, but rest assured you aren't the first to experience this problem. I thought I could re-conjure up the answer (as I'm sure I've read of it before) but didn't find it in the first 10 minutes searching, so now it's back to you.

Edit: you might try some of the suggestions on this page.

PRAM battery?

Try disconnecting the pram battery on your pismo. It's pretty easy to do, pop out the optical drive, lift the keyboard and disconnect. Start the machine. See if this helps. You may need to replace it, Since the machine is roughly five years old, it is about due for a new PRAM battery.
