Hello everybody
My name is Ray.
Can you tell me if it is posible to replace the screen on a tray loading IMac.
I just but this old blue iMac at the recycle center and the screen is dead.
They have a PowerPc 5200 on stuck will this screen fit the iMac.
I check the internet for this problem, and I see the flyback transformer problem repeted often, is this part on the CRT or elsewhere, because if not it won't help to change the screen.
Can someone show me a picture of that part and explain whereit go and what it do?
Thanks!
another common problem with the iMacs is the analog board. If the green light on the front comes on, and it works on an external monitor, then the analog board is something you might want to check.
It would probably be a lot easier to just buy a new shell w/screen and put your old mobo in it. wouldnt cost that much.
