HD crash how do i boot from a floppy

I have another HD but what do i need to boot it,
everything i download from apple must be already be in the HD before use, how about
when a HD doesn't have anything, i don't understand that,
with other OS you just boot from a floppy and fdisk the HD and format /s and all is ok
How do i do the above with a MAC 5400/200 , i tried Linux sarge but it doesn't boot the CD
it boots only the old woody but Debian doesnt support that anymore, im kind of like stuck with an apple that works but doesnt have the OS installed... I have all the apple OS 7.5 19 floppies but i dont know how to boot the machine with a floppy
Not very much info on these things, and i would really like to try it...

If you've got the 19 floppies

If you've got the 19 floppies for 7.5, you should have one named 'Disk Tools'.

Put that disk in the floppy drive, then turn the computer on. If the floppy drive's working properly, it should boot from the floppy.

Once it's booted, run Drive Setup, format your hard drive.

How to boot

If you have System 7.5 floppies, put disk 1 in the drive and boot. If the Mac doesn't find system software on the HD, it will check other drives (CD-ROM, floppy) until it finds a system folder.

If you have system CDs (7.6, 8.0, 8.1, 8.5, 8.6) you can boot from the CD-ROM drive. Start up the machine and hold down the "C" key. If there's nothing in the CD-ROM drive, it should open. If not, straighten a paper clip and stick it in the hole under the CD-ROM drive door to open it.

Forgot about the Disk Tools floppy -- it's been a while

eeun is right -- use the Disk Tools floppy to boot the 5400.
