I've attached photo of a temp fix that worked for me and allowed me to remove/copy files.
Please note that the gpu is actually located near the bottom side of the case - not the top. I put small blocks of wood on both sides to distribute pressure and was then able to boot up the machine. Good luck.

They said I was daft to try to build an enterprise class server (castle) on a desktop client (swamp). The first attempt, a default interactive install, failed miserably (it fell over, then sank into the swamp). So I built a second one. Console install (option 4), went a little smoother... but I never made it to disks 2-5... though had a booting system, couldn't get the darn X-server to cooperate, banged against .xorg.conf for a couple hours... no joy (it burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp). But the third one stayed up!
