I just broke the sound chaser ribbon cable connector help

Hi all,

After just resotring my Apple IIe mnotheboard from a blowen power supply I was setting up the Sound Chaser and moving it. I removed the ribbon conncetor in a bit of a hurry and broke two pins off. arrrggghhh. Does anyone know how and where to buy a new connector and crimp it on? What tools do I need. Here are the photos.  I'm feeling kinda down now after this stupi error. :(

Finally got an Apple II+. What's next?

I have several IIe's, a couple IIgs's and a couple IIc's.  But I always wanted an original II and II+.  I can't afford a II and, over the years, I've noticed that II+'s run around the $200 - $400 range depending on condition, etc.  However, I've noticed recently a few under the $200 range.

Any FAQ/info on file transfers, disk images etc?

I'm in the midst of reviving my old Apple ][+ clone, and while waiting for some replacement components to get the computer going I thought I'd look into the software side of things and try to refresh my knowledge of how to use my (5.25") floppies and transfer files and programs to/from other platforms (most notably a current Mac, or an Atari STe in case a serial port is needed which my Mac doesn't have).

I'm sure these things get asked all the time, so I'm wondering if there's a FAQ, an online guide or something which I can read to catch up?

Power Supplies - rebuild or replace outright

I've been searching this forum, and there is lots written regarding Apple power supplies... I'm stll digesting it all.

Without trying to stir the pot...    I have several Apple ][+, //e and even 2 //c's....    And from what I have read I believe I shouldn't operate any of them with their original PSU's.

I feel I have the minimum skills to replace capacitors..

Apple Disk II speed control board failure

Now, here is something for real Apple2 experts  :-)Apple Disk II - the diskette spin motor won't start, all other functions seem to be OK, but with floppy not spinning its hard to tell. The analog board looks OK, the "motor on" signal is generated, the motor itself spins when powered. I traced the problem to the speed control board (SCB), initially I suspected Q4 (the power transistor), but it looks OK, BUT ... Q3 is faulty!  There is no visible damage on the board, no signs of overheating, etc. It is rather rare that a low power transistor fails by itself...

Apple ][ europlus not booting

I thought it was the power supply but it appears to be fine as all + 5 V +12V -5V and -12 V measures correct from plug and back of the motherboard. When switched on, speaker clicks but no beep, no power light or display. I can feel heat when I touch 6502 and the roms but ram chips all cold. I have also reseated all the chips. I am now stuck at what to try next. Any pointers would be much appreciated.

BASIS-108 - Serial Loopback Test - How to?

Does anyone know how to perform a serial loopback test at a BASIS-108 computer?

More interesting is the question what cable needs to be used to transfer data via ADTPro to a BASIS-108, because a Null Modem cable doesn't work (as normally when using an Apple IIe instead the BASIS-108, for example).

Rev 0 that puts screen full of question Mark's but is unresponsive

Got my first Rev 0!  It's in really nice shape.

When I first powered up, I was getting a solid white screen.  If I powered down and back up again, it would sometimes display a screen full of Gs.
