Apple 2c hardware revision identification

While I wait for items to fix my 2c monitor and get it and the 2c up and running I opened it up and have done some reading. I came across some information on modding it while i was looking to see if i could upgrade the memory I found some versions can be upgraded and have a socket to do that. My question is without being able to see the output how do i identify what hardware revision I have? I believe I have the 32bit version because w2 connected and w1 is not, past that I don't know. Is there somewhere I can find the information?

Thanks
Mike

When did Apple shrink the size of the open/close Apple keys?

I have three Apple IIe's (non Platinum) and on one of them, the open/close Apple keys are much larger than the other two. It's almost the size of the entire key. In fact, it almost looks comically large...lol

I can't say that I like it or hate it. I thought about swapping them out for my primary IIe and see if they would grow on me. Smile

So when did Apple decide to shrink them?

Apple 3

I have a slightly balky Apple /// that I've just fired up for the first time in years. It boots into ADTPro ok but on other disks it gives me a system failure 6 message. Or if I let it sit in ADT it will at some point crash to error 2.

Wondering what the best approach would be for figuring these out?

What software supported the Mockingboard D?

My guess is probably almost none. But did any games or music utilities support the Mockingboard D for the IIc?

Thanks!

Why is the Platinum cover so lame?

So, don't get me wrong...I love the II family. But let's be honest, the lid for the Platinum Apple IIe is so bland with its screen printed "Apple IIe". When you look at the original Apple II and II+, the badge is front and center. Even the stock IIe badge looks good to the left. So why did Apple go the cheap route with the Platinum? Other than that small apple icon on the right, it just doesn't feel "Apple" to me. Not like the others.

Apple II "Pong" as mentioned in the "Mini Manual"

I noticed this the other day in the Mini-Manual and mentioned it on a Facebook post about someone collecting all the original Apple II tapes.

http://bitsavers.trailing-edge.com/pdf/apple/apple_II/PrelimApple%5D%5Bmanual.pdf

Look on page 7, it mentions that "Pong" uses Paddle 1 in addition to Paddle 0. This implies it is not talking about "Brick Out" which is not a two player game. Also, Brick Out is specifically mentioned elsewhere in the manual, I believe.

Does a "Pong" tape exist undumped?

Omnivore

While this is not new I thought I would post as I have
just come across this and found it interesting.

Some of you might already know what it is, but
for others, you may not.

What is it?

- a hex editor
- bitmap viewer
- disassembler (supports 6502, 65C02, 65816 and Z80)
- mini assembler
- jumpman level editor (for Atari)

It runs on Windows, Mac and Linux.
It can operate on files (currently DOS 3.3 supported)
disk images for either Apple II or Atari.
