DuoDisk -107 analog board repair, plus general questions about FDD functionality

Hi all!

So I have a DuoDisk that was on the fritz that, through a comedy of repair mishaps, is nonfunctional at this point. I'm waiting on parts and I'm pretty sure I can fix it, but I've got some questions that I've not been able to answer through googling.

Apple Clear Light Superstar, found one... whats the deal?

I was cleaning out my Dad's A/V equiptment closet last weekend and found an Apple Clear Light Superstar w/ 2 disc drives. My mom says she remembers him using it for some sort of automated light shows in the mid 1980's, but she thought it was long gone. It was in a box some some other old apple joysticks and random cabling.

I did some quick Googling and it seems like these are pretty rare... only 1 ebay auction in the past decade, only a few mentions on some OLD websites...

How rare are these? How much is it worth?

Floppy Emu back in stock

Just FYI for anyone looking for one. I have no affiliation with BMOW but have seen a few folks mentioning they were looking for it.

Convert floppy to .DSK in UK

Hi there, the floppy drive for my Apple IIe is no longer working, and I'm going to try to get it back up and running. However, in the meantime there's a disk I would like to get converted to a .DSK file so that I can access it.

I was wondering - is there anyone here from the UK, or nearby, that could do this for me if I sent them the floppy? Obviously happy to cover any costs.

Many thanks!

Apple IIgs loads with a red screen

Hey, so Im still waiting for my 4mb ram ugrade to arrive and in the meanwhile I thought Id try Defender of the Crown. So I have 1.25mb. So using FloppyEmu I line up disk1 and reboot. Its starts to load, and then after 30 seconds or so the familiar theme music plays. But the odd thing is, the screen is bright red, no graphics.

The Floppy Emu actually has a Golf game on it, and I have also tried to load that. Same deal, the game loads for 30 seconds, then the screen goes red and then music plays. Very good music, but no graphics.

4116 RAM Tester

Fellow Hobbyists,

Hi, I’m new here, but I’ll been reading this forum for years.  I’ve been looking for a good way to test the ram on my various Apple II’s, Clone, and 16K RAM cards.  Since I didn’t find a readymade solution, I decided to create my own and I would like your thoughts on this project.  It is based on the work of several others:

Apple IIgs, cannot get GSOS to boot

Hey, I bought a IIgs Rom 01, about 2 months back now. It was sold as working, and indeed it is, in that I have booted some Infocom games on it, and it did not crash. But I also already own a IIe and IIc, so I wanted the IIgs for GSOS and the GS specific games. It came with a memory expansion card, unpopulated, so the machine had 512kb of ram. I tried to boot the image of GSOS 6.2.2 from my floppy emu, but it simply did not work. The loading screen appears, but the progress bar went nowhere.
