Vulcan 100mb benchmark?

I know someone that has a 100mb hard drive that’s compatible with the Vulcan controller I have. Problem is that he really doesn’t want to part with it. I’m pretty sure though that I can make a deal with a large enough trade offer. I can’t borrow it though. So I’m wondering if there’s anyone here that has a 100mb Vulcan that they’ve done or would be willing to do a benchmark? I’d like to see how it compares with the 40mb drives and CFs I’ve benchmarked. If the drive’s horribly slow then I might prefer to keep my trade goods.

ProFile power supply blew up

I picked up two ProFiles from an ex-Apple employee in San Jose today. Both required hearty thwacking to get them spinnings, but once they spun up they seemed to work on my Apple ///. They are not NOS like the ///, but I can copy files to them and they pass the "Verify Volume" test in System Utilities.

Well, OK, one passed. The other copied a bunch of files and then made a series of popping noises and emitted great clouds of acrid smoke. Fortunately it didn't kill anything in the ///; the computer's fine and the other ProFile still works.

Macintosh LC and Apple iie card

Hey guys.

Is there a way to test all of these items?

When I start the system, it says, "Welcome to Macintosh". but the drawing of the picture of the computer does not always come out in color.

When I was running System 6.0.8, it completely lost color in the monitors section in the control panel about half of the time but when that happened I could easily set it back to 256 colors. Now I am running a newer OS and it sometimes goes to 16 colors but never complete black and white like it did with system 6.0.8.

AUX RAM howto

Let's say that I have 256kb of RAM on my AUX card, and also 256kb from my transwarp card.

The question is: How do I use them?

ProDOS user disk only gives out 128kb (which is 64kb + 64 kb, in contrast to 64kb + 512kb of mine)
/RAM partition only shows 64kb of space available.

So how do I make them usable?
Thank you

Apple ][+ Power Supply Capacitor

Hi everyone,
A capacitor blew up in my Apple ][+ last night, and I have to order a replacement. I only have a rudimentary understanding of buying correct replacement capacitors (I know how to solder and everything). Since this is the oldest and most mint computer in my collection, I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right to prevent damaging anything else by installing an incorrect capacitor.
The markings on this capacitor are as follows:
One side:
Rifa
40/085/56
PME271M610

Other side:
250V~MP
fo=4,9MHz
565-1-ALD2

Problem creating .DSK images with Applewin

I seem to be having difficulties creating disk images with applewin. I have loaded in a DOS 3.3 System Master disk and booted it up ( In applewin ) , then I clicked on DRIVE 2 and typed in the name of the disk image I wanted to create along with the file extension , example .DSK or .DO , once back in applewin , I typed INIT HELLO , S6 , D2 snd it would format the image correctly . But the problem now is , applewin pops up and says Cannot open file , unable to recognize file format?

Brother can you spare a gasket...

I am preparing to retro-bright one of my old IIC's that was pretty yellow. I have it completely disassembled but ran into one snag. The upper rubber keyboard gasket was so dry and brittle it was just fragments of crumbly rubber. Any chance of finding that part anywhere for sale...came up empty on an Ebay search? If not I figure I could make my own using the lower gasket as a template. The lower keyboard gasket was still in good shape....surprised it wasn't in the same shape as the other.
