SoftCard Doesn't Play Well With TransWarp

So I got my MicroSoft SoftCard today, and I found out, even with slot 7 set to 1 mhz on the Transwarp card, the two don't play well together. I just get a bunch of garbage on the screen. Same thing if I leave the RamWorks III in. With the RamWorks, it will work sometimes, but not everytime. Take out the RamWorks, and the TransWarp, and all is good. It works 40 column, and I tried with a regular 80 column ram expander and it worked fine as well, in 80 columns. I guess there are just some things the SoftCard doesn't play well with.

Help with some quotes for an upcoming book for the Apple II chapter?

I was wondering if anyone had an interesting anecdote or two I could include in an upcoming book I'm working on with Matt Barton for Taylor & Francis, "Vintage Game Consoles: An Inside Look at Apple, Atari, Commodore, Nintendo, and the Greatest Gaming Platforms of All Time." It's due out later this year and is the next entry in the "Vintage Games" series. We're working anecdotes and quotes into the book from both insiders and passionate users. Naturally, since I'm asking here, this would be for the Apple II chapter.

An idea...

It would be nice to insert a vintage floppy into a Mac or PC and have it know what to do with it.

ADTPro and Audio

Hi,

I using the ADTPro Client to transfer some software to my Apple II.
I am using the Audio client. And I can transfer ProDos and the Audio Client. But if I press D or R to send some dsks or lsit the dir the mic level goes on max. settings 4 bars up for a second and then nothing happend. On Apple II screen stand: Waiting for host reply, esc cancels. On ADTPro Client stand No activity. What else can I do? Cables are new, level changing did not work.

I'm using an MacBook Pro from 2010.

regards Christopher.

Cleaning A MotherBoard

I have an Apple //e Platinum that I am going through and cleaning up. I considered using it as a parts machine for my working Platinum, but it is in pretty good shape, so I thought I'd just go through it and clean it up. The motherboard has had a capacitor leak, which is a 10uf electrolytic. I am going to replace that cap, but I need to clean the acid off of the board. I have heard of people just using soap and water on pc boards, but this scares me. I even read where one guy put one in a dishwasher. How do you guys clean up your motherboards?

Spray Paint color for an Apple II (not plus) case

OK so I got a hold of an early raised power button Apple II keyboard and I started looking though my spare cases to mount it. Well it turns out I have an Apple II case in really bad condition, nicked and scratched plastic top and a bottom plate with some rust spots I need to refinish (bottom plate will be easy, mask the serial number sticker before or carefully remove and replace before/after painting black). Ok the cover doesn't have a logo plate anymore, but they do come up on eBay every so often.

607-0187-E, C, & D Differences

So, I have a 607-0187-E motherboard, a 607-0187-C, and a 607-0187-D. What exactly are the differences in these? I assume the -E is the newest revision. Were there any changes that make one better than the other? Thanks.

Apple II CPM question...

So I got an Apple II plus with a CPM card and a thunderclock card (I understand needed to I don't have to enter the date and time when I start CPM)

The question I have is... If I already own an Altair and a Sol-20 which both can run CPM if I want to, what can I do with an Apple II CPM Card that I can't do with them? I'm trying to decide if I should keep both the CPM and Thunderclock cards.

Thanks,
Corey

So the $5,000 Rev 0 Apple II in poor condition was a bad auction...

I emailed the seller of one that's on eBay right now that reminded me of of an earlier auction I was watching. I said to myself wow it seems a lot of surviving Rev 0 Apple II systems are missing the raised power key and have a replacement power supply so I decided to do a search for the one that sold a few weeks back for 5k. Well same pics, same serial number and everything...

Well the seller told me this...

"Yes this is the same system. Unfortunately the previous buyer did not pay for this Apple II. "
