Apple IIe composite video output

Others have posted in the last couple of year about using a 19” Insignia TV from Best Buy as an inexpensive monitor for Apple II composite video output but for some reason I’ve been unable to find their posts.  I want to thank them for calling this option to my attention and to add that although the posts mention an LCD TV, the current model is an LED one.  I’m pleased to report that it does an excellent job of displaying 80-column text using my Apple IIe’s composite video output.

AppleColor 100 RGB Monitor Alternatives

So I have an AppleColor 100 RGB/80 Col card for my A2E but I (sadness) no longer have the monitor that went with it.  I've seen them up for sale for big $$$ in the past (in fact, there's one on eBay available right now for 700$, which is a little bit more than what I'm willing to spend at the moment, although I am severely tempted).

Soundchaser Sound Cards

Does anyone have any information on the analog sound board option for the Soundchaser? Speedyg has extensively documented the 2 mountain computer music system cards for the digital option, but there seems to be very little online about the analog option. So far I've been able to find 3 pictures, 1 is B&W and from 1982, and the other 2 are lifted from an old ebay listing that the rest of the photos are gone from. Neither is close enough to make out ICs, and the boards in the pic from 1982 is a different design and presumably revision from the 2 in the eBay listing.

Looking for schematic for MITAC Model AD-1 and SHUGART Model 390 Alternates for Apple Disk II Drives

Hi all,

Does anyone have a schematic or know where to find one online for either of these two DISK II alternate brand vintage floppy drives? Looking for schematic for MITAC Model AD-1 and/or SHUGART Model 390 vintage versions of the Apple Disk II 5 1/4" floppy disk drives.

Laser 128E computer to modern printer?

This might be a ridiculously naive question, but then I'm probably ridiculously naive sometimes.

I have a Laser 128E (Apple //e clone) with a parallel printer output. Might it cause any electrical damage to the computer or the printer if I were to try it with a Brother 2040 laser printer?

Question for ][+ BMOW FloppyEmu users

Hello,

Has anyone that is using the BMOW FloppyEmu with an Apple ][+ upgraded their firmware beyond 0.2L?

The reason I'm asking: the Franklin ACE 1000 that I'm refurbishing absolutely refuses to boot from a FloppyEmu that is connected via an Apple disk controller.

All firmware revisions work fine with a Franklin disk controller, and the Apple FDC works fine with 0.2L.  Apple disk controller + (firmware > L) = endless read loop on track 0.

Doesn't matter if the logic board is using ][+ or Franklin ROMs, the result is the same.

Apple III low voltages and IDE solution

Hi everyone,

Just finished recapping the PSU of an Apple III and tested the output voltages. Got good values on the positive +5V and +12V but the negative voltages are low, -10,8V and -3.9V since this is without load on the PSU are these values ok? I only recapped the RIFAs and the big caps on the 110V side.

Since I don't have a Profile Disk is there any modern adapter to connect a CF or SD card to simulate a hardrive on the Apple III?

Thanks for any help

What are the wire colors supposed to be for original Apple II+ male power connector?

Hello All:

What are the wire colors supposed to be for the original Apple II+ male power connector?

Mine on my 40 year old power supply are faded and my color vision is a wee bit impaired, plus old age.  I've googled for the answer.  I of course can find sketches for the pin-out voltages for each pin.  But thus far I could not find a listing for the wire color scheme presentation like one can find for the PC motherboard power supply 20/24 pin main connector(s).
