Revisiting "The Oregon Trail"

Hi, guys, I thought you might be interested in some work I've been doing on the Apple II. I've written a retrospective and made a video on YouTube about one of my favorite edutainment games, The Oregon Trail. I hope you'll like them!

Apple II+ Keyboard Issue

Hi guys,

New patient on the table. Smile

I got an old 1979 Apple II+ off eBay with a non-working 'O' key. This keyboard is the one with all the separate soldered individual keyswitches and integrated encoder board (it's not the separate one with the 25-pin cable).

What was your favorite BBS back in the 80's ?

What was your guy's favorite BBS's back in the day? I can name just a few , but remember it all depended upon what the user was looking for in a BBS. One which a friend of mine ran , in Southern California was Called The Silarillian , soon later it was changed to Dune , which IMO was one of the best boards around at it's time. This board was so far ahead of it's time , with the capabilities it leneded to it's users was unheard of at it's time! With the right amount of User Priv.

Any interesting Programs that you remembered from the past?

Just curious , what are some of your guy's favorite Programs written by the users in the Apple II community? I know that there were tons and tons of appz made for everything from Modem Programs , especially designed for the famous Apple Cat Modem or programs that were designed to help aid in making custom title screens for your games and appz?

My latest Apple II toy: original Visicalc!

Snagged an early working original (with the brown folder, instruction book etc). This is the early Personal Software version before the company was renamed Visicorp.
And the disk still boots up on the Apple ][ non-plus perfectly!

Newbie question: ADT, Chicken vs. Egg problem

Hey folks, former Apple IIe owner (bought one in 1982)... now getting back into it. I have been reading about using ADT to transfer .dsk images to the Apple, and all the directions say at some point, "Run ADT on the Apple." How do I get ADT running on the Apple if all I have is a .dsk image of it... see the problem? Do I need to buy it on 5.25" floppy first? If so, where can I do that.
Thanks!
