Hey!!! DON'T BLAME Dan, for being an UN-Realistic Optimist... Some of us, Somewhere, have to live in an Imaginary Land.. Why can't it be him???
MarkO
MarkO and All,
Hell, I've bought from Dan before, but when this ROM card came up for that price
I thought I'd fall out of my chair laughing.
Steven
Well, it would probably sell that much if he added "Steve Jobs thumbs pushed the rom chips into this board."
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-BIOSTAR-M5ATC-Rev-1-0-Motherboard-Socket-7-CPU-ISA-Slots-MSATC-/121744261717
ISA slots are getting more and more expensive. Especially P4 boards that have them. This is only a bad attempt to sell these slots.

Oh Yeah Georgel,
I looked at both of those.
SVCSTORE jumps their prices all over the place and are still too high.
Now...
That Slot 7 Motherboard?
I have ten of those sitting in a plastic container.
I wonder If I should auction them off? LOL
Maybe I'll get $5000.00 for them?
Steven
Now this is down right silly:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-Macintosh-Classic-Cardboard-Box-/172022346130?hash=item280d54b192:g:a2YAAOSwwbdWGbvl
And I just know that the air inside has Got to be worth something.
$20.00 to ship an empty box full of California Air...
PRICELESS!
LOL
Steven
Surprisingly I've been seeing a lot of these empty box auctions lately... not surprising is they never sell.
I don't remember where it shipped to, but it cost me $40 dollars to ship an empty box to a Vectrex once (from Maine).... guy wanted it real bad and paid me well.
OH MY GOD!:

Do people just arbitrarily pick a price and list the shit or what?? This is a $5.00 item at best. Sad thing is some millennial will buy this thinking they're getting a bit of history. Or some poor sap will want it for replacement parts or something.

makes this guy think he can?

Holy crap that Apple II's price is from another planet!
And another great deal for the Christmas Season:

Transwarp,
I wrote to that seller and asked him if he had looked at the rest
of the IIgs units for sale on ebay.
I got a ration of crap from him/her/it saying that
I had no idea what I was talking about while he spiced it up
with a few choice cuss words.
Now, everyone knows that I am not the brightest bulb in the house,
but I do know what the going price ranges are up on eBay for
most of the Apple II units and parts.
lol
Steven
Hello Steven,
if you seriously hunt for a normal reply.....
did you seriously expect to get in from someone in a
psychiatric hospital ????
LOL.....

Speedy,
I kinda figured since he was in the padded cell next
to mine, that I just might get a normal answer.
Silly me. lol

For $5000.00 it should be a Limited Edition, Signed, 1 of 1 Print.
But we all know that it's not.
Steven
What's scary is that these folks actually think that a IIc is worth this much:

Steven
A boxed //c+ with extras.
Hello to all AF Fritters,
well the Xmas days passed over......
and we´ve seen a bunch of outragious "offers" or should we better call ´em "traps"....
anyhow .... compared with last years "Xmas run for prize of the moon"
this year there have been far less rockets than last year...
at the other hand - some more "traps" found a "customer" willing to pay such outragious prices....
so in general to stay with the term of the armenian carpet dealer....:
"I´ve caught more idiots this year..."
i believe - a bit more that this year less guys entered the market "just for speculation - get the money and run"
but this year i did not see anything that could beat last years candidates for the
award of being the most outragious price in this universe....
allthough some guys still seem to have access to very strong drugs...
just my 5 cents...
speedyG
Speedy and all,
Yup!
This is the time of year where we all breath a sigh of relief that we
did not take that "Once in a Lifetime Deal" offered by some obscure eBay Seller
that we never heard of before and we'll probably never hear of again.
I have to agree with Speedy that there have not been as many traps or
absolutely Outrageous items this year, but I will point out
that some of these folks seem to think that $1,000.00 for a IIc is "Normal".
Yikes! Are you HIGH???
I want some of what ever it is. LOL
Things should settle out in a month or so.
At least I hope they do.
Happy New Year One and All!

Happy 2016 To All!!!
I usually don't post newer Mac's up here, but this one caught my attention
as it has "a Woz Signature":

Steven
I can't remember if you guys pointed this one out already or not, but WOW!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Early-Apple-IIe-Computer-AA11040B-lot-software/111746162053?_trksid=p2047675.c100010.m2109&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131231084308%26meid%3Da5dd47e8c7c04124890268299db09f1f%26pid%3D100010%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D18%26sd%3D131689169379
$4,100.00 for a //e! Really!
The //e was my favorite Apple II probably because that was the first machine I owned.
I bought up a bunch of //e systems over the past four or five years and I think I paid $70.00 tops and that one had a LiRon card in it.
The prices have really gone up on them. I am seeing //e systems only with a bunch of keys busted off of them going for $40-$60 and entire systems with just a SSC and Disk controller + monitor going for upwards of $180.00. Maybe this is just the Christmas rush, but holy cow!
I thinking of doing an experiment and document it here. I am going to pull one of my //e systems down, put a few common cards in it, bundle it with a monitor and some software and see if I can get $150.00 or better. I might even throw in a system saver fan.
I just have to see if this is true or the ones on eBay are being bid on by the sellers friends to drive the price up. I have a feeling, I'll still own an Apple //e after this exercise, but we shall see.
Jay
Jay,
Oh Yeah!
I listed this one a while back.
Original Listing was for over $6k
(if I remember correctly)
I wrote to the seller and asked him
what was so special about this IIe that he had
to ask $6k for it.
He said that it was because it was his.
I said Good Luck.
The price has gone down a bit, but it's still the same computer.
Steven
Holy smoke!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/231801158795
lazarusr,
I can't read the descriptions,
but the packaging looks like they've
all been opened.
That's a lot of money for used software.
Steven
Hey, you can get a piece of wood with "Apple Computer" poorly carved into it for only $6000!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-one-part-wood-keys-Rare-/221986138800?hash=item33af67aab0:g:vrcAAOSwX~dWiukQ
The best part is that the lister admits to having paid $35 for it, which is funny on multiple levels!
That's a weird auction! Is he trying to claim that the piece of wood came with an Apple 1? Or am I missing something?

"Rare Apple II Computer A2S1-37049 Works (see pics)"
Err, no it isn't.
Bill and Transwarp,
He's just some silly guy who thinks that this
is a "Production" piece. lol
Laser,
Yep. A Replica in an Apple II case.
Now isn't that Special. lol
Steven
It appears to be a Replica Apple I, in an Apple ][ Case.. Maybe the Chips are are Date Accurate.. That would be worth a little...
MarkO
Wow. Kind of a shame to butcher a II to make an Apple I replica case.
I think Vintagecomputermuseum knows very well what is in that case. Their listings contain a great deal of information when they want them to.
I tried to find out what was special or unique about that $4,100 //e system
and the seller thought I was harassing him and threatened to report me to ebay! Overall I get the feeling he's kinda grumpy and sour on life.
Maybe one of you guys can find out, other than that its an early version of the //e.
In time, maybe another 10 years, it might go for the inflated prices of
standard II not-plus machines. But not today.
The same seller has a base model //c and monitor for sale for $1,000 too!
Oh Hell Yeah!
Just let me pull out my credit card!:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/221988656421?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
NOT!
Steven
Go offer $190.00 to the seller. Try and fool him/her!
What can you say but LOL?

(Although it is fair to say that if he gets $950 for an Apple II Pi, mine is going up for sale the next day!)
Bill,
If you think that ones funny
check out this "Monitor":

Steven
... are you F___ING kidding me?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281906215064
[edit] apparently someone has pointed this out already.
But it actually F___ING moved. I swear I can sell a bridge on fleaBay.
The listing was manually ended. It didn't move at that price. My mistake. I clicked on the wrong box. This isn't surprising. There's always a flunky. And I've taken advantage of plenty of them. If they're stupid and want to give me money, who am I to say no?
That's the Uthernet II scalper from a few weeks ago. Remember him? The $650 Uthernet II. Such a tempting deal too!
