Macintosh handheld?

I don't recall this one being posted on Applefritter yet.

I just got an ipaq off ebay, and was doing some searching around for Atari emulators and came across This.

An ipaq running Linux running the Basilisk II Macintosh emulator.

Very cool.

!

That's pretty neat. Are you planning to do that on your iPaq? Keep us informed if so.

Doc.

I laugh at danger

Well, no, I don't.:)

Installing Linix - a prerequisite for installing Basilisk II - involves overwriting the ipaq's ROM, a procedure which apparently can quickly turn handheld computer into an expensive paperweight.

That said, it's still tempting. So is this RAM upgrade. :o

I do, however, have three flavours of Atari emulator running on the ipaq now (VCS, 8-bit and ST - all at good speed and compatibility).

Oh boy.

With enough dead laptops and crts, i think we already have enough paperweights to last for about a million years. Smile

I'll go!

As soon as I get a network card (and probably more RAM), I'll do it.
I'm already running Linux on my iPaq and am willing to do this. :coolmac:

Cut and Paste

Its a vHack. I think VNC needs to be launched after login, not after.

Why do it yourself?

ipaqrepairs.com will replace damaged or aging parts on your iPaq (think battery)... for a price.

How about KDE with an aqua theme?

You can run KDE on your iPaq with the Intimate distribution but it requires a microdrive or incredibly large CF or PCMCIA card.
You can also run Blackbox and IceWM.

uh, what?

vHack, meaning...? Virtual hack? It looks like cut and paste... the bottom of the screen isn't square!

lol
so... you launch vnc after login, and not after? One of those paradoxes? They make my brain hurt.

vHack

It's a term Trash-80 coined to describe a stock item photoshoped to look hacked or modded.
