I was wondering would it be possible to add another power supply to a power mac 7300/200. Maybe just a small extra battery to add some cathode lights and fans i have planned for a mod.

Unless you've maxxed it out to an unknown extreme you can probably put tubes and such in without a huge risk of releasing magic smoke.
A look at the Apple tech document shows the original PSU rated for 150W. I put a watt meter on my 7300 (two hard drives, three PCI cards), and the most I could get it to use was something like 80W. So there's some room for extra stuff. Don't honestly know how much cathode tubes use though.
I was suprised to find it worked out fine with two cold cathodes and two uv fans. A pc i tried to install a cold cathode in wouldn't power up with one extra fan and a cold cathode and that computer had a 350 watt power supply.
Most cold cathode system us 3-5W per 12" tube. 4" tubes are under 1 watt. If your PC didn't power up, it was probably shorted out, not overpowered. Otherwise it would have failed as soon as the CPU did any number crunching at all.
