My machine (Beige G3/Daystar G4 ZIF/OS OX 10.2.6) dials up the PPP connection at login, before any apps or even the desktop have loaded. I'd like it to stop doing this so I can experiment with Turbo Internet (a PPP speedup thingy). Can anyone offer any suggestions?

I am guessing that you have dial automatically and internet sharing on. Try turning automatic dialing off.
