Looking for a couple of really old Applie ][ games.

I'm guessing it was around 1988-1990 when I last played these... I remember printing out a banner for my dad using... I don't even remember what it was, PrintShop or something maybe, just that the banner printed on one of the really old printers you needed to thread the paper into, with the little holes and the tear-off strips, heh.

Anyway, first one was a top-down maze deal. It didn't really have any graphics per se, just solid color walls on a black backdrop. It was, I think, six levels long, the last one being really big and having pink walls. In each you had to find some sort of key or magic wand or something before you could open the exit door; I remember finding the exit in the pink maze and being extremely aggravated at not being able to go through it.

The second game was a graphical text adventure, sixteen colors. I'm afraid I really can't say a whole lot about this, other than that there was a cave, a river, a lot of fields and some mountains, possibly a river. Maybe you had to find three items of some sort, possibly jewels? There might've been a witch involved too, but I can't be sure.

If anyone can help me figure out what these were, I'd be much appreciative. I used to love that maze game, and I never could get very far in the text adventure but thought it was really, really neat nonetheless.

Thanks, but...

I appreciate the link, but I'm 100% positive that I'm not looking for Mac games. The games I'm looking for came on 5.25" floppies, and I used to play them on "color apple" computers 'cuz I didn't know better and was just going by the little logo on the front of the machine. They were probably IIs or IIes.

oops, yeah it's http://www.virtualapple.org/

Thanks Bill Martens -- I appreciate you getting the correct URL for me. I was wondering why I couldn't get to that site anymore. Smile

"games"

One of the "games" you mention is really a printing/
graphics program. Yes, it is/was called Printshop.
It can still be found either on the "e-***" site, or
on various resellers sites. Depending what edition
you want as to its availability.

AS for the other games, there are presently several
bundles of Apple II games for sale on "e-***" right
now.

Also Google "A2Web" and check their classifieds. You
should bookmark that site and check fairly often as
the content changes frequently.
