Yes, I'm not particuarly picky. I'd just like something like a Powerbook 520c, but I don't really want to restrict myself to just one model-- the fact is that I would take anything as long as it has a working battery (a charge lasting only around an hour is fine, I just need more than 30 minutes), a working colour LCD of any size, working keyboard and trackpad (this should be a given, but somehow it is not always*), a working floppy drive, working ethernet, working hard drive of a size larger than 500MB... do you sense a pattern here? Price must be low, but the money would come from paypal.. a credit card on paypal. I can also trade a vast quantity of 72-pin RAM, a full-height 5 1/4" hard drive of peculiar working order, a book by Scott Adams called "The Dilbert Principle", and/or a Brother AX-450 with an alarming tendancy to get in the way-- in addition to or instead of money, depending on how generous your kind heart is.
I would be unfailingly thankful to the person with the Powerbook of my Newton-synchronising dreams.
*Some people with an obviously much more refined sense of humour than I seem to think it's a grand idea to sell laptops without AC adapters. I think this custom is not only wasteful (what exactly one does with a 10 year old semi-proprietary power adapter sans semi-proprietary computer is beyond my powers of deduction) but frighteningly rude. I can almost picture a 40something single man clutching 68k powerbook adapters to his grave. Perish the thought!
It was probably a minor oversight on your part, but your footnote should have been in reference to the required "keyboard and trackpad." If you've purchased notebook computers without AC power adapters in the past, it could possibly be due to the fact that you omit the fact that you require one.
Now, on to a much more serious issue. I have what appears to be a brand new Newton AC power supply, but I've no Newton. I also have an almost complete Newton fax modem. Would any of your Newton-synchronising dreams be desirous of such objects?
I chose to elaborate on missing essentials in my footnote-- I've always bought things with the intention of actually using them and therefore with all required parts.
As for your surplus Newton paraphernalia, I wish I could say that I needed any of those things, but I do not. I'm sure you'll find someone to take them off of your hands, though.
