It looks like according to slashdot, the macbook pro that was demoed, is only a prototype. I wonder how long it will take for them to get the "Real" product onto store shelves?

on the same page that the /. links too, it also says that apple seems to have scrapped the Airport card, for an intel a/b/g Card, though the OS does not support 802.11a Protocol
As long as there is a driver, and I'm positive that there is, the A function will work unless Apple blocked it for some reason (but why would they do that?).
I was sure as soon as I heard the initial battery reports that the power management firmware wasn't done, though.
