AIO display, take two

The display utility that a user sent me worked like a charm, I was able to "stretch" the screen to the viewable area and adjust various settings, but it still has issues. When I first boot the machine up, the display is really dark and barely readable in a lighted room (like a room in the daytime). At night it isnt much better but still viewable. Eventually it slowly gets brighter to where it should be while still going dark on occasion until it warms up. The next issue is the dimensions of the screen. Even with it adjusted, the image snaps into a wierd position, that being narrow and tall (tall and skinny?), then wiggles its way back to where it was (literally, its freaky!). Do I have a loose connection or is the analog board about to die? Also, are these somewhat easy to find or should I move the board into an ATX or even a beige tower or desktop case?

It's about to die.

What kind of machine do you have? If it's an iMac, it would probably be a better idea to move the guts into an ATX case, because if you replace the analog board, the problem will likely happen again sooner or later (due to poor ventilation and design on Apple's part).

ah, sorry. Its just a beige G

ah, sorry. Its just a beige G3 AIO. It's been on for a few hours now and so far the screen is acting ok but who knows what it'll do with more use. If it was an iMac I'd just gut it and ATX it like I did with the last one I had, but I do like the look of the AIO and would prefer to keep it intact except for some paint and small hacks.

Well, that problems has reare

Well, that problems has reared its ugly head once again. I had to go somewhere so I left the machine on. I came back to find the tall skinny screen after it had woke up. It wiggled back into place and back a few times, before staying all distorted.
