You probably need to replace the PRAM battery first. Then, the easiest way to set the date is through an OS. I don't know of any OF commands to do it, offhand. Evenif you set hte correct time, if the PRAM battery is dead and the AC gets unplugged then the time will get cleared again.
I thought it might be the battery but i pulled that out and tested the voltage and it reads 3.0 volts. I have loaded up Ubuntu Linux on the machine andwhen ever i try toset the date in the Linux comman prompt it fails and just defaults tothe 1903 date
Considering the voltage on a brand-new battery is 3.6V, 3.0 is just low enough to cause general squirreliness. (a purely technical term)
What are you typing for the date command? I've done it before in Ubuntu with success. You must be hitting the Gnome Date Bug, eh?
yep. wierdest thing. it loads, but you cant get to the desktop. live CD or install.
try the date command in OF. lemmie see if it works on my B&W.
