Ah at least i got the house, so much for my plans for the 2nd bedroom, its gonna become the kids room if the judge awards me custody. 8 more months to go.. Im thinking naming it if its a girl Rayvn Nightshade, something different, i mean i really want a baby girl. A boy i dont know yet lol

Ah, this reminds me of a grea

Ah, this reminds me of a great simpsons quote.

Apu: Homer, when did you decide to have children?
Homer: Decided?! *laughs* That's so classic! You don't decide, babies just happen. Acute

Congrats...

I got one of both, potty training is definietely easier with a girl, but my boy is my buddy and has the most gregarious laugh and is so much like me (I think that's a good thing). You will be thrilled with either one.

The single parent thing is going to be hard, so (friendly advice) if you can work something amicable with the mom, try it. It will make things better later and won't leave either one of you shouldering all of the burden. If it is just not the right thing to do for whatever reason, find some resource or 'help' for your own sanity. You will run up on times when you need a break and having a good support system behind you will help you and baby bond better for the long haul.

Congrats! It seems we might

Congrats! It seems we might be developing a Baby AF contingent. In a couple years I'll be building a baby/kid proof computer of some sort... :macos:

education is the key...

I taught mine when they were really young to ask me to show them sthings (pictures, mpgs, kid games). When they were a little older, I tqught them how to turn the machine one, log on as a user, and get their CDs in and out. My daughter still has trouble shutting down, but hey, she's only three. My son is five. The two machines they use are my Bondi Rev A (which recently had the stock tray upgraded to a slot-loading CD RW) and an older Mac IIsi which I broke them in on.

Tha is actually not a bad idea if you have a legacy mac in decent condition - give the kid a 'training machine' to get them used to clicking the mouse and dragging things around. That way they have 'their' machine and you have 'yours'.

Incidentally, everyone in the house understands that NO ONE touches momy's flatpanel iMac - the kids may mess something up, and I may alter source code. Guess I may be a kid too! Wink
