Yep, from time to time iTunes

Yep, from time to time iTunes just freaks out. The playback starts skipping, and makeing all kinds of weird noice. Most of the time killing the QuickTime process and recycling iTunes fixes the problem.

i will agree i love the looks

i will agree i love the looks and the gapless playback but it bogs my g4 500mhz down really bad. i havnt had any real issues with playback though, that seems to be perfect. it makes me want a new mac just that much more now because i want to have a all around usable machine that can keep up with my athlon machine.

I may have asked this before,

I may have asked this before, but how do you go about seeing what percentage of the CPU activity is used by a program?

Under OS X, open up the "Activity Monitor" app in the /Applications/Utilities directory. It's there.

CPU 10%

Thanks. Very cool. One of these days I'm going to have to actually sit down and read one of my OS manuals.

I just recently did a complete clean redo of my harddrive--OS 10.3.9 et al (my number one goal was to get Norton Filesaver off my harddrive)--and I went ahead with the iTunes upgrade up to the most recent--iTunes 7.0.1. When I first opened up iTunes I watched it do that gap thing to my music files, and everything went smoothly and iTunes is working fine. According to the Activity Monitor iTunes is averaging around 10% CPU usage, so there you go, no big deal here. Equalizer is working fine too (As I mentioned on a previous thread, it wasn't showing up for awhile on my previous iTunes 7 install).

Here's two previous threads that dealt with iTunes 7:

Did you have itunes 7.0 origi

Did you have itunes 7.0 originally? 7.0.1 fixed many of the problems that 7 had originally.

I have never had any problems

I have never had any problems with iTunes 7, and the iPod Updater 1.2 has improved my battery life while playing video.

I swear, the signal to noise ratio for Apple discussions is phenominal.
