Conway's game of life is a "population" algorithm. Each generation survives or dies according to a set of rules. If a star has too many neighbors, it will die of overpopulation. If a star is isolated, it will die of loneliness. Only when a space has a certain number of neighbors will a star be born. The Apple I version starts with a random population. Pressing any key will show the next generation. Some random populations regress to nothing... some become static... and some move in patterns forever. Just press the key to see what happens to the next generation! There is no player input, just observation.
