I have the collection of Apple-1 AIFF program files (e.g. Wendel Sanders - https://apple1notes.com/?page_id=42#ab) , and the only one that manages to drive the ACI with sufficient volume is the 30th Anniversary Demo (Corey Cohen's?) Anyone else seen this? If not, it may be a problem with my (original) ACI. If all else fails, I suppose I can try generating new files from the tapes I have on hand (load from tape, output to Mac or iOS) ; or maybe reprocessing the AIFF files to boost amplitude.

This file is not recorded, it is generated and a perfect file. The other files are actual recordings and have a much lower amplitude.Amplifiying the files might help try it.
The easiest fix would be likely to get the software you want as HEX dump (WozMon compatible) and use c2t https://github.com/datajerk/c2t to convert to aiff or wav.As an example I converted Life.aiff and Mastermind.aiff from:https://landonjsmith.com/hcprogs/life.hchttps://landonjsmith.com/hcprogs/mastermind(3).hcAPPLE 30th Aniv.aiff is unchanged.
I did not try to load that files as I don't have an Apple I nor an ACIYou can find more software:https://github.com/landonjsmith/honeycrisp/blob/main/honeycrisp_1.2.7.htmlFrom line 2527
Or try it online here: https://landonjsmith.com/projects/honeycrisp.html
It is most likely the volume. APPLE 30th Aniv.aiff is at 100%, while the other ones are at 50%. Just use Audacity to increase their volume to 100%.
Thanks for the pointers. Trying both options, will report back.
