Using G5 iMac's display with external source...

Just curious if anyone's tried this. I have a G5 iMac in which the mobo is giving problems, but has a perfectly good screen. I'd like to reuse that screen for something and if it's possible to hack a cable to the screen so that I can use it for another system I'd love to hear from someone.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Many thanks, but it's not a laptop I'm looking to use the screen from, it's a full iMac, 20-inch. But I'll assume the same situation applies inasmuch as there's custom hardware in there that can't be bypassed easily.

Cheers

You know ...

There's a Repair Extension Program that covers this issue. Call your favorite Apple service provider and see if the serial number is in the covered range.
