AlBook Power Adapter Problem

Ok, I had a problem with the power adapter of my AlBook (Aluminum PowerBook G4 15", 1.33 GHz)

First, it stopped charging. Turns out the barrel ring was bent, as seen here. I got the power adapter from my iBook G3 (Dual USB) sent down, and used that on the AlBook for a few days. Problem is, then it just stopped seating right.

I'm hearing a pulsing noise in the iBook power adapter now, and the pin seems fine ... I suspect that the power adapter has become faulty all of a sudden, and/or the socket in the AlBook is loose, and won't let the pin/barrel of the adapter sit securely.

I need a solution, as all my data is on the AlBook, and I can't even backup as the battery is flat Sad

All help received would be greatly appreciated, I can't bare being on this PC!!

Thank you kindly,

Sam

If the power adapter from the iBook is 45w, that is why. The PowerBooks (except the 12") were designed to be run off the 65w ps.

Nope, both adapters are the bricks (as opposed to yo-yo), and are 65W.

On another note, the noise coming out of the working (from iBook, no bent barrel ring) power adapter, sounds like ticking.
