And we're up!

Whew! That was a bit rougher than I anticipated! One crash (before I even started moving things over!) and one restart later, I think we've got everything working. If you see anything seriously wrong, email me!

92 Guests?! WoooHooo, go App

92 Guests?! WoooHooo, go Applefritter. :mac: Is that a bug?

Also, only because I'm so confused about where to post comments, but I can't get smilies to work by clicking there icons below the reply/post field. I have to enter them manually.

Question: I thought there was a way to start your own polls (questionaires) with Drupal. I seem to remember that being mentioned or implemented early on, but now I can't find anything about it.

92 (178 currently) is probably right. Applefritter has always been much bigger than just the Forums, and those numbers match the logs.

See Mike's post about the smilies.

Only administrators can start polls.

Love It

It's nice. It's going to take a bit of time to get used to, but yeah, it's nice.

Lookin Good

I like the direction the UI is going. The suddle changes, like the post outlines are making big differences (positive ones). Of course I know the underpinings are still being worked on, I think this new Applefritter is starting to grow on me.

Recent Page

Can you set the "Recent" page to display just 1 of the most recent posts from each topic, like the old Af?

Unfortunately, I really liked

Unfortunately, I really liked the old design much better. Beee Definitely glad to see the push to keep the technology up-to-date in the site and the cool new abilities it has, though.

pc vs mac (AGAIN!!!)

I noticed the new site seems a lot worse using ie on windows, using a mac (15" 1ghz imac) everything seems sharper and flows smoother and loads quicker. It also looks cleaner and better rendered on a mac.

Windows is hell

Coding code that works well on both Mac and Windows is nearly impossible. When I did a couple of my parges it was nearly impossibly to get two windows boxes to render pages the same let alone the way designed. Gewtting it to work with Macs is alot easier

Preaching to the choir....

Trying to get a site to look the same in IE Win, IE Mac, Mozilla Win, Mozilla Mac, Netscape Win, Netscape Mac, and bloody Safari, was sheer hell. I ended up with 4 different stylesheets for display, and I'm working on 3 different print stylesheets.

email me if you wanna see what I mean. I don't want to brag TOO much, y'know.

Wow, this site really sucks n

Wow, this site really sucks now! And not just because it has changed, but because it has changed for the worse! Like the pictures of hacks?! You have to click on numbers instead of clicking on the name of the hack! It's crap! Plus the very original rainbow colored "AppleFritter" logo is gone! The only good additions to the site are the little happymac smileys!

I came here to research programming on my Apple ][e, and I can't find squat anymore!
This site sucks! Everyone is probably saying it's good because they want to keep from dissapointing you after all teh hard work!
It's certainly like going from mac os to win xp... >:-(

Actually, I think we just are

Actually, I think we just aren't so rude as to just rant "it sucks!" and instead try to find ways to offer constructive feedback, and try to find the ways in which it works better instead of complaining about the things we miss (Just like the moving from OS 9 to X!).

Speaking of which, if we want to voice our 2 cents about how we think something might work better, or if we have a question about how something works, should we be posting it in the forums or just send Mr. Owad a message? If we post such ideas/questions in the forums, which category?

themes

You were using the "interlaced" theme, which you must have manually selected. I've disabled it and all the others except our main theme and the beta theme, to prevent confusion. That'll address a lot of your problems.

Do you know php? Help out.

"my account" won't update

Looking better all the time! :macos:

When I tried to change "my account", I get a new page that says "The e-mail address 'XXXXX@XXX.com' is already taken." (Same account from the old 'fritter... haven't changed anything... and it is my valid email addy that's in the account.)

Fixed

You have two accounts, one for "Dan R" and one for "DanR". You're using the latter right now, so I've deleted "Dan R".
