Ok. I put two (256) rams in my Wallstreet. Only one showed up, but while trying to solve that problem I thought I would turn off sleep mode, because I was having to hit the dim light switch for the screen to brighten up after boot up. I'm running 10.2.8.
Now the darn thing will not crank up stay on at all. The green light appears for a moment and then shuts off. What did I do? It had to be with something in the sleep department.
How can I get around this to fix what I did?
Thanks.

Have you tried disconnecting the PRAM battery? Reset the power manager? Revert the memory back to the original config?
I remember replacing the pram battery and that was way down deep to get to. I swear I hate to do that but I will. You really think that is it?
Ok. I have two Wallstreets. Not that I'm proud of that, but I did take the harddrive out and put in the other and it booted fine.
Now what did I do to make it do this? All I have hooked up is the power cord.
Thanks
The only thing I can think of, was the ram was not fully seated, causing a shortage shutting it down. if you replaced the HDD, you might have bumped the ram into connecting fully and bridged the gap, therefore no short and it works now.
All I can say is, either the RAM is bad, or the ram wasn't making a full connection. Try reseating the ram or cleaning it with a cotton swap stick and use a little drop of rubbing alcohol on the cotton swab and rub it on the contacts of the ram.
Several things may have caused it, but if anything thing, it was the RAM was unseated.
Reseat the CPU card? Since the memory is on both sides of the CPU card (just like tray loading iMacs and every variant of the PowerBook G3) odds are good that maybe the cpu needs to be reseated. It's been a couple of years since I've last encountered a Wall Street G3.
After looking very close I can see where I bent two pin settings in the seat of the CPU card slot. I might be able to straighten????????
Anyway, that should do it except the battery is not showing charging on the working Wallstreet. I tried the RESET vs. 2.0 by Apple but the X is still across the battery in the menu. WELL it was last time I looked but... Now the battery in the menu is RED, with no X across it.
I don't know what that means. If I punch the button on the battery (new) it does nothing. NO lights what so ever.
Any ideas.
You can straighten those pins, but be very very careful and do not be in a hurry. It's not easy, and it's something that I cringe to think about. (had that happen on a pismo I had once).
Will I broke it. However I have another used board which I just swapped out. Now the darn screen is very dim. One thing after another it seems.
I had replaced the inverter not long ago and ribbons.
Maybe something in the board.
