Screen too small

Loaded OS 10.2.
Completed
Now monitor screen desktop is dead center of screen and about 1/2 size. I have 14".
Checked display in Pref.. Shows resolution but nothing about screen size.
Tried everything. Pushed everything.
Reloaded OX 10.2 again. Same thing.
What am I missing?

Thanks

To help, we gotta know...

.. what machine is this that the install has been done on? Desktop, laptop, all in one? If it's a desktop of course there's possibly controls for that sorta thing on the monitor.

Provide as much detail as possible.

is this the original discs?

try using the OEM discs. This usually happens when you use discs that are not of the same revision (or higher) than the ones that shipped with the Machine.

Happened with OS 9 on my iBook 12" G3 900

Successfully got it bigger

I just about gave up but loaded the updates to 10.2 and when I did it fixed it. Just wish I had not lost my 10.4 that came with the machine.

Thanks

Possible causes

I dunno, but it makes me think about 10.2's built-in RADEON drivers. I guess if the RADEON is new enough that OS X doesn't recognize it, it doesn't recognize the screen. I am also guessing why a Retail install of OS 9 causes that, vs. the install that comes from the OEM discs from apple. Hence, the small screen in both

I am very happy to hear that you fixed it, and this will help me diagnose further issues I might have on my end. Thanks for reporting back! You have helped me in more ways than one Smile
