Power Adapters

So I bought a couple 'Books at the MIT flea market for $5. I got a Clamshell 366 FireWire, and a 1400c. Now, I don't have a power adapter. I do have a dead Ti G4 logic board. I wanted to unsolder the DC-in plug and put it in one of the 'Books. My question is, is it the same voltages, and pin outs, but only smaller?

Thanks!

BTW:

The 1400c has some Video card upgrade from Newer Tech.

Both 'Books are in excellent physical condition, but I need a keyboard and battery for the Clamshell. Its Indigo, so if anyone has these please PM me and let me know how much you want.

I believe so, I recall back when Apple made the switch to the smaller jack a company made an adapter that looked like it was just a size changer. It was intended so that you could use your airline power adapter or external battery pack with the TiBooks until new ones came out.

Ok, but what about the pinout? That could be different, right?

Same pinout, but . . .

why bother? The newer small-connector AC adapters sell for more than the older larger type. Plus, when you find a proper adapter(s), you can use it with either of those 'Books. Can't do that if you swap out the DC-in connector on only one of the machines.

Because I have like 20 white

Because I have like 20 white bricks lying around. Lol. I have no yoyos though. I also want to be able to use the 1400 at my desk at work witch I have the newer white brick cable router through my desk. I'll probably borrow a yoyo from a friend just to check if the ibook works and runs some diagnostics then sell it accordingly.

If you've got 20 yoyos lying

If you've got 20 yoyos lying around, you'd be better off changing the plugs on a couple of them rather than on the laptops. You can use a stereo headphone jack with a small rubber grommet at the base to get the spacing for the contacts right. The outer shell isn't actually needed.

Besides, if you check, one or more of the yoyos might fit the 1400 already. I have one that does.

I don't have yoyos I have bri

I don't have yoyos I have bricks. To late now anyway, already soldered new connector on 1400. Worked like a charm. The 1400s battery even holds a charge for almost an hour and a half!
