While I'm repairing stuff: taking apart the aluminum laptop LCD

I'll be tearing into my G4 12" Macintosh aluminum today to oil the fan. (another thread on that)

Has anyone tried taking apart a LCD (top) and if so, where did you go?

I have a screen that is cracked in one corner. I can still see over 80% of the screen. Thinking while I have the Mac apart I can get in there, clean any goo that leaked out, and cover the cracks with fingernail polish and then reassemble. A way of repairing the screen till I come across a replacement.

About the LCD

Let me see if this much is right. It seems that the screws that hold the LCD together are on the bottom of the bezel that holds the LCD in place. Is this how it work? It attachs at the top and screwed in my hez screws on the bottom?
