Re: What a traitor!!

Used in a sentence: Jerry Seinfeld is a traitor

He's an actor, a professional, and a businessman, not necessarily in that order. A commercial is exposure (at a time when it appears he's interested in reviving his media career) *and* it's money. Not necessarily money he needs, but money all the same. If HP showed up at your door with a good fraction of a million bucks to do a thirty second commercial for a laptop (which also works as a cross-promotion for your first movie acting job in years) would *you* turn it down?

I'm also wondering exactly what qualifies him as a "trator" at all. A Macintosh appeared as a set piece on his TV show, and Apple stuck him in a "Think Different" ad nine years ago. (Ads well known for featuring people who died before Macintoshes existed and/or probably would of been offended by having their life work associated with a high-priced consumer bauble.) That's scarcely a rich history of Macintosh evangelism he's turning his back on there.

Is he a family member of yours? I was kidding. We have all made reference to the macs on his show too many times to list and I thought it was funny seeing him as a traitor for doing the HP commercial. Guess "you" had to be there..and I was the only one getting the joke.

Honestly, I don't care for him. The only reason I don't give "Seinfeld" a thumbs-down on the TiVo is if you do that then the TiVo will never record a "comedy" suggestion again. (Apparently every other "funny" show ever made lists Seinfeld as "related" in TiVo's database.)

Ooookay. It didn't read like you were kidding. It read like one of those angry/bitter/religious Macuser rants that make me want to drop all the Apple equipment I have at home into a dumpster and walk away so I can avoid being further stained by association. There are waaaaay too many Applestazi nutjobs that would actually believe Seinfeld deserves the death squad because he's strayed from the One Holy Way. Despite the fact that it's obvious the Mac on his desk was there as a product placement, not a genuine expression of the actor's personal preferences. (It was always a current model, after all. If the show had purchased the prop it likely would of stayed the same for the four year run.)

But now that I know you're kidding, well, ha ha. ;^)
