Hi I am installing 7.5.3 OS on a Mac Classic HD but I want to completely format the HD first. After you click continue the only options are, Easy Install, Custom Install & Custom Remove but none of these options format the harddrive for you. Do I need a different system disk to be able to format the HD first? There is a key command in the installer to do a clean install but again it only adds a new system folder or you can choose to update the existing one but it doesn't format the HD for you. What do I need to do?

Need Help on How to Format Mac Classic HD. There's No Option on the 7.5.3 Install Disks to Format. What Do I Need?
Start with the Disk Tools floppy and boot to that. Open the Utilities folder, then the Drive Setup application. There you can repartition/reformat your hard drive.
I found the utility but HD SCSI Setup Utility says "unable to find suitable SCSI device connected", but there is a working 40gb HD in the computer. It's running now with programs and games on it. The harddrive icon shows on the desktop and is named by the previous owner. When the HD setup utility starts up it just gives me that error. Whats the problem? When I look at the info from the Apple menu about the HD it says it's around 35mb and is SCIS01 I believe. Thanks!
Older versions of HD SCSI setup refuse to format SCSI drives that don't have "Apple Approved" firmware. You can download a patched version that doesn't care... here, I guess:

What program do I use to make the file a bootable floppy able to be read on my Mac Classic?

If you downloaded a complete "disk tools" image you should be able to use Disk Copy (You can download that from various places) to image it onto a disk.
Reading back, something occurs to me, so just to double-check... are you trying to run the disk utility from the OS installed on the hard disk already? You need to boot from another disk. MacOS automatically protects whatever disk you booted from from being erased. You may not need a "patched" version after all. You just need to use a Disk Tools disk to boot from first.
