The Impossible Dream?

As I was reading several of the posts over the last couple of days, it was strange that several of them dealt with ethernet connectivity in one form or another.

It occured to me that with all of the new hardware that seems to be popping up (Rich Dreher et al) that no one sems to have made an attempt at an ethernet card with an RJ-45 connection (if the Uthernet card has one I will have to pay pennance for my blasphemies) that will work with the Apple II family of computers.

Expansion cards, CFFA cards, Extender Cards, even new cards to use PC type 3.5 inch drives, but no ethernet cards.

Is this an impossible Dream? Is an 8 bit ethernet card with RJ-45 connector and software to make it connect to the internet anywhere in our future?

If I were an electrical engineer (lol thats hilarious) I could sit down and and design one. But since I'm not.....oh well...I think I'll keep dreaming.

Anyone have thoughts on this? Smile

The Uthernet most assuredly does. Take a look:

There was also the LANceGS:
