Virtually pristine Apple IIC with original boxes.....any interest?

Found this at an estate sale. Looks to be barely used. It has the main unit in the original Styrofoam, in the original box. All of the user manuals and Apple floppy disks are there. It comes with an additional external floppy drive, also in the original box. The monitor does not in include the original box. It is an incredible find in this condition. I thought I would let the enthusiasts know about it before I throw it up on eBay.

*drool*

I really need to finish up a couple of project computers before I take up anything new. I hope you're able to find a good home for this machine!

I'm like cw, I have so many irons close to the fire that I want to get to and haven't actually started yet.
I already have six IIc and four IIc Plus computers sitting in the back room untouched that I need to clean up. I have all of my ADTPro software and connections sitting there on the bench with my Platinum IIe. The IIe has a Titan Accelerator, 1 Meg of RAM, and one of Rich Dreher's CFFA cards in it, plus a few other goodies like a Super Drive (3.5, 1.4 Meg)card and drive.
But...I'm back at work now and by the time I get home, get done what I need to do and get ready for the next day, it's just about time to call it a night.
It's hell getting older. lol Smile

That is a good question. I really don't know how to assign a value other than researching eBay. I saw a IIC Plus with the boxes that sold for just over $600 10 days ago. I am thinking that this should be in the $300-$400 range. Does that sound fair?

Far be it for me to tell you what to price it at for an eBay auction, but If it were me I would start it at less than $60.00 and I will give you my reasons:
1. It is a IIc, not a IIc Plus.
2. Original Box and paperwork are good, but how many folks care about original boxes?
3. It is a used item so eBay says you must sell it AS IS.
4. Look at your customers. These are folks just like you and I who must make decisions on
what they are going to spend thier money on. Yes; some of them have "disposable income"
to part with, but a majority do not. When I place a starting price on my items I try
to take that into account.
5. Vintage computers; including Apple II items are a niche market. Yes there are
collectors and users out there, but you must admit that when you look at the overall
scheme of things we are a relatively small community. It fluctuates, but it is still
small.
That is my two cents worth.
Good luck Smile

gsm,

You make many valid points. I will probably start it less than $60 if I go the eBay route. I was just wondering if any true enthusiasts here might be interested. Honestly I don't know jack about the early Apples or their values. I paid a ridiculously low price for the system, so getting my money back is not a concern. I guess that my entire motivation for registering on this site is to try to steer this system into the hands of an enthusiast and to hopefully glean an idea of its value.

I do appreciate your two cents.

Another two cents worth...

The Apple IIc is a great system and is comparable to many systems for the time. I am pretty sure that you will find some threads here expounding its virtues. lol
There probably is someone here who whould be interested. Alas, I cannot be one of them as I already have six of them sitting in the other room and one (modified with I meg of RAM and ROM 4) sitting on my bench, along with four IIc Plus computers.
Recently an idea has been floating around about reviving the external hard drive project for the IIc and Rich Dreher (CFFA Card for Apple II series) has been prodded by several folks (including myself, lol) about a CFFA connection / card for the IIc.
I think the IIc has been neglected in this area. Even the Laser 128ex had an Expansion Box that cards could be placed into. It would be nice to see the same kind of box made for the IIc.

I guess that was more like a quarters worth. lol

I went to the website and something wasn't quite clear to me. Will it work as a simple Smartport device accessible with ProDOS8 ?
