Re: Rev 0 Apple II on ebay............

Wow.. $3,161.11. Did you get it?

That seems very high. Usually I'm pretty close when I guess, and from past auctions I had only guessed this would only go for about $1500-$2000, and with it being sold in unknown condition by Goodwill, I wasn't even sure it'd bring that.

Re: Rev 0 Apple II on ebay............

No I didn't win it, I wasn't even going to spend a third of what it ended up selling for. I really liked this one mainly because it was a really low serial # and had the early style power supply. That and I figured that since it was half a computer it would sell for way less... I was wrong lol.

I figured it would go for 2.5K on it's best day, honestly over 3K seams like too much considering it's not tested, and finding a matching case will be very hard to find. Let alone the keyboard, which is the early one that extends into the case. The keyboard alone if ever found could go for $1000 alone.

HI Transwarp,

Don't worry, you ve got another chance, this time it has the upper cover and the low serial power supply, though it seems it was fitted with Applesoft ROMs.

Yes, I saw this one in the first 20 minutes of it's listing. I was the one who got him to open it up and take pictures of the motherboard.(well I and several others according to the seller lol) It's a good computer. It's in really good shape considering.
Only thing off is the keyboard, which would be next to impossible to find. I remember when one of those early rev 0 keyboards got listed a while back, I think it went for 1k, but maybe I'm mistaken.

Re: Rev 0 Apple II on ebay............

Also, notice how the power supply is golden, just like the later II+ ones. (I don't think it's a trick of the light)
At first I considered the power supply as a replacement, but then I noticed it had a very similar serial # as compared to the computers serial #. The power supply serial # is 1916, while the serial # under the computer is 1798. Either it's a coincidence, or more than likely it's original.

Until now most people including my self would have figured the golden power supply's didn't exist in the rev 0 era. I guess that's not true.

Interesting, more pieces to the puzzle.

HI Transwarp,
though it seems it was fitted with Applesoft ROMs.

One last thing, if you look at the rom card in slot 0 it appears that the original integer ROM's are on that card. Someone may have switched the Applesofts off the card and on to the motherboard, and vice-versa for the integer's. Hopefully they are the original 1977 integer ROM's. That would be great if they were, original 77' integer ROM's are scarce.

WOW! That's a nice piece for sure. It has a gold/white ceramic 6502 processor too!
It looks all original and doesn't look beat up at all.
Thanks for posting this, i didn't even know it was on sale until you pointed it out.

Yep, that's pretty much the real deal. No vents, turquoise slots, toggle switch power supply. They don't get any earlier than that. This one is going to go for a fortune.

Re: Rev 0 Apple II on ebay............

I don't know why people bid before the last day of the auction.
The winner is always someone that bid on the last 10 seconds.

Early bidders only mess the price of the item, starts bid wars and most times leave the auction before it ends.

Please guys, let's wait till the last minute of the auction to start bidding. Smile

Re: Rev 0 Apple II on ebay............

I usually bid at the last second, definitely does not make it a rule.

The price should eclipse the last highest one that sold for over $6000. At least that's what i would think considering it's all original being one of the first run of rev 0's.
It's in really good shape, i didn't think the early painted ones could last so well, they usually get all chipped up.

Applesoft ROM
non-1977 datecode RAM chips

In fact the one with RFI keyboard just ended have all the original 1977 integer ROMs on the ROM card and only a few RAM chips are non-1977. $3600 something not really bad deal, the seller told me the power supply is toggle one.

The final Bid of 41...$23,099.00!!

It went from $6,000.00 to $23,099.00 in less than 4 minutes.

Now I guess we'll see if the guy actually pays for it.

I never thought it would go that high.
But there are probably about as many ventless Apple ll Rev 0 s as there are Apple l s.
I never thought an Apple l would go from $25,000 to $675,000 either.

Re: Rev 0 Apple II on ebay............

One of my friend who is the second highest bidder of the rev 0 closed at $3600 said that the seller contacted him the highest bidder would like to give up the bid and the seller has issued bid cancellation notice and said would offer my friend a second chance offer once cancellation is complete, but a couple hours ago the seller said the highest bidder paid. Maybe the same winner was one of the bidders of the non-vent rev 0 and when it went so high, thought his won rev 0 is a good deal now. That $3600 rev 0 has the 1977 ROMs on the ROM card and toggle type power supply, except there are no vents Smile He can just swap a white 6502 with additional $1000 only from Ebsy.

Well, I didn't especially want to deal with eBay, but I have now put up my Rev-0:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/251290817992?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Unlike so many other auctions, I want this one to have transparency, credibility, and competence.

Not to talk mine up too much, but I do think it's the best of the three - it's all-original, it's in fantastic shape, and it's the only one of them that's thoroughly tested and vetted. I loved this machine, I took good care of it, and I want to make sure that folks know exactly what's up for grabs.

It was actually my main Apple for a while, when my usual workhorse, a II+, was temporarily out of commission. I used it to rip a bunch of disk images. It's not just a museum piece, it's a fully functional system.

In my opinion this is one of the cleanest non vented rev 0's I've ever seen. I mean it is super clean, and appears to be all original.

The serial # is 148.

It's better than the last non vented rev 0. It still has the super early power supply unlike the last one. Keep in mind the last one sold fro $23,000!

Yep, I have had to bend a couple of rev-0 keyboards gently back to flat. But not all have that as I think Mike Willegal said his Rev 0 keyboard isn't bowed.

But yes this one is really clean, the correct ROMs appear to be on the language card also so they could be swapped right back in...

Corey

I hope it wasn't because he thinks he will get 20,000 for it and it wasn't climbing fast enough. This is a nice one but its not sub 100 like the previous one. I'd figure 10k for this one maybe 12.

Then again someone was bidding on the last one and lost and they may want this one pretty badly.

When a reserve is met the price of the reserve is immediately shown, well until someone bids past it.

Great!!

I was just starting to begin to get IIe units at a reasonable price again. Well, this blows that right out of the water again when anyone with a IIe thinks they will get....

$5,000.00 for one ... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-IIe-2e-new-in-box-/281145302112?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item417590dc60

-or-

$950.00 for one ... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-IIe-Computer-Workstation-A252128-Apple-Monitor-2-5-25-Unidisk-Drives-/390620325145?pt=US_Vintage_Computers_Mainframes&hash=item5af2c92519

and so on.

Oh well back to the waiting game again.

Jay,

Yep!

I took one look and laughed so hard I almost fell out of the chair.

I believe it's the "I have an Apple, so it MUST be worth $20,000.00 Syndrome".

I'm not sure what the cure for this is. It might be like the "STUPID Gene" aqnd
it has no cure. No amount of meds can cure stupid.

I figured this thread deserved to be brought back from the dead due to this auction...

This is one of the nicer rev 0 Apple II's I've seen:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/271881093260?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

It's very dusty but it appears to be all original! Very early 297 serial #. It also has the very rare silk screen style power supply (which looks very good I should add).

Great price for that unit. It should have gone for more than that it had all the original parts. Even if it didn't work and needed some TLC you don't see systems that low serial number intact too often including the ROMs and silk screen supply.
