So I need to clean up and make some more room in my computer work area.
I've been selling my spare II plus with the CPM card on eBay, but was thinking about it this morning. Should I just sell my "immaculate" spare Rev4 Apple II setup with my spare 1975/76 Portable Sony Trinitron color? While I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into it, one of these machines has to go and I really only need a single spare II type (non rev 0) for testing cards and super Protoboard work. otherwise it just sits there doing nothing as my regular everyday apple II is a rev 0.
What do you guys think, should I hold on to the Rev 4 or keep the II plus and should I sell the Rev 4?

how badly do you need the money? it seems that you have some emotional attachment to it, so if you regret it later, how much are you willing to pay to "get it back?"
It's more the space. I only have a corner of my basement to work on and store machines that I can't put in my office. Though having some cash come in from a machine does get me some "points" at home when I go to buy more computer stuff. I think I'm not super attached to it, I really have to get my self away from that idea or I will never get rid of anything since I usually go nuts when I get a machine that I'm going to keep for a while. I'm the nutcase who took my sol-20 down to bare metal and rewired my entire rev-0 Altair (about 400 individual wires).

i guess it might be more dependent to siding other factors..... so you have other machines too like IIe`s ?
And at the other hand - if you have different kinds of software and interface cards - it might be worth thinking
about the idea of configuring "specialized" versions... for example one for gaming and CPM or UCSD...
and the other one configured for prototyping and programming with applesoft or integer ....
I´ve done some kind of configuering specialized versions with my machines....
one is equipped also with lab-cards for measurements, playing atound with the gameport and Pascal ancluding huge
1MB RAMcard for use with UCSD and storing measurement results, while the other one for CPM and programming
with different kinds of languages under control of CPM also is configured for relaxing and normal gaming...
the gaming one has color Monitor ( RGB ) while the "measurementcomputer" only is equipped with green monitor...
but that one also has SCSIcard end external storage devices for transfer of sources to PC or MAC by changing plugs
at the external SCSI tower....
similar is valid to my IIe´s ( one configured for experimants with artificial intelligence and Speech input and output) - its the non enhanced one - as well as programming in LISP and LOGO while the other one ( enhanced ) is rather more for experiments and prototyping and use with UCSD Pascal...
and the 2 IIGS computers are also "specialized" the ROM 1 version is rather more for music input and output, gaming and use with CPM 3.0 with fast Z80 ( 4 Mhz ) card....
while the other one ( a ROM 3 version ) acts as a kind of Fileserver determined to make any kind of Apple disks for use in the other machines - equipped with CFFA3000 and SCSIcard and Super serial card....
an the IIGS´s the "Fileserver" has Monochrome monitor while the "Music machine" has Color monitor for also being used for gaming...
maybe creating specialized units is worth an idea... it at least protects inferface cards from steadily beeing pluged / Unpluged.... leaving the unit in one specific configuration.....
I´ve made a kind of "storage tower" set besides the table on the floor with shelves so i may just pick the machine i like to use to the table and just plug in cables.... and the machines have simple paperlabels above the keyboard with a kind of "configuration table" for easy identification....
