I seem to be having problems creating Disk images within Applewin? I thought at one time , you would just click Open on one of the drives , type in (uppercase) the name of the file you wish to create , enter INIT HELLO and it would format the disk image and create it? Then when I try to drag it to a drive or open it , it says that it does not recognize the file format? Is there a new step in Applewin that will let you create disk images? I am trying to fix some warez that are not working correctly and copy the contents to a new freshly made .DSK image .

I think init hello creates only Dos 3.3 disks, not DSK images.
Try using CiderPress.

Boot a DOS disk in S6,D1. You need to have DOS resident in memory.
In Applewin, you click on the disk icon for drive #2 and type an arbitrary name like TEST. A file 140kb blank disk image is then created. Think of that operation being identical to you opening up a box of disks and taking one out. This disk has nothing on it, it isn't formatted or anything. Ciderpress ain't gonna read it.
Now you have to format it. Type INIT HELLO,D2. You are making the DOS 3.3 layout/structure now. Give it a moment. And now you can drop this newly CREATED and FORMATTED disk image into ciderpress.
Or you can just use ciderpress to make disk images. Or copy images, or use copy II+.. Lots'a ways to go about this.
Oh, ok. I stand corrected. I could have figured out how to do this exactly but I did not want to write an exact tutorial but point in the right direction. Good job!
