Looking for a Mountain Computer CPS MULTIFUNCTION CARD working setup disk image

Hello,

I'm looking for a "dsk" image of the original setup disk for the Mountain Computer CPS MULTIFUNCTION CARD.

This one: http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Mountain-computer-CPS-Multifunction-card-for-the-Apple-II-/201534593747?hash=item2eec65dad3:g:ZFEAAOSwoBtW2Kkm

All the dsk images I found on the web are broken (Asimov etc.); the applesoft "SETUP II" software that's on the disk is missing lines of code starting from line n. 4050 and up.

Does anyone have a good copy?

Thank You
Luca

Did you check those images to be sure they solve the OP's problem? ..because "SETUP II" is still corrupt. Just a few lines further down.

Additionally there *IS* a copy of the disk without the corrupt lines on asimov. But it is modified as how it loads Applesoft Basic. It isn't the original disk.

It will be a couple of days before I get to my original disk.

Re: Looking for a Mountain Computer CPS MULTIFUNCTION CARD ...

Hello Keatah,

I'll try another round of public dsk images to see if I missed something.

The DOS dsk images from the public repositories have two versions of SETUP, one for 48K and one for 32 K systems.

I agree that those dsk images have a strange DOS version. The ones that I tried have a corrupt DOS, it does'nt even execute the "RUN" or "load" command; I have to boot with a DOS 3.3 separate disk and then "RUN" the "HELLO", "SETUP" sequence on the CPS disk.

Referring to "SETUP II" applesoft program (for 48K systems) , it is missing lines from about line n. 4050 up to 9000 .
I created a new setup II by merging it with lines from 6000 to 9000 coming from the file "SETUP V-32K" (32K systems) and it worked but more lines are missing in the 7500 area.

I don't know anything about the "OP" problem, what's that?

My goal is to fully check the card under DOS 3.3 (at least the clock works in my card) , configure it to have the serial port as default I/O, test the serial connection with a null modem cable , then try to connect the Apple II running OS/9 (I have a THE MILL card and it supports the CPS) to my PC and grab SOMEHOW the OS/9 Kermit version and see if I can import some OS/9 software on the Apple (apparently there are dozens of apps on COCO's).

I'll check all the Asimov dsk images again.

In the meanwhile THANKS a lot for everybody's help!

This forum is great!

Luca

UPDATE:

I checked Mountain CPS utilities disk dsk images at Asimov ftp site.

this one works

I've been able to run "SETUP II" and check the card.

I'll update here again if I find out more aboute this card.

Thank You all!

Re: Looking for a Mountain Computer CPS MULTIFUNCTION CARD ...

OP means "original poster". I have located my original disk, and dumped it. It seems complete. It loads AppleSoft in a slightly different way than the Asimov disk - which seems to have an added line#5, a different version of AppleSoft tacked on to an integer program. That's a minor point and may only be important on 32K Apple II machines.

Anyhow, I'll eventually get around to posting it in a day or two.

Re: Looking for a Mountain Computer CPS MULTIFUNCTION CARD ...

UPDATE:

I now confirm that the Mountain CPS card works under OS/9 in the following configuration:

Apple II+
16k Ram card in slot 1
1MB Apple Memory Expansion card in slot 2
Videx Videoterm in Slot 3
Microsoft CATS II Z80 Softcard in slot 4
Stellation II The MILL 6809 card in slot 5
Super Serial Card in slot 6
Mountain CPS card in slot 7

No conflicts.

To enable OS/9 use of the Mountain CPS RS-232 serial port just run the Mountain CPS "SETUP" utility disk and configure the "DEFAULT INPUT DEVICE" and "DEFAULT OUTPUT DEVICE" to be the serial port.
Choose the BAUD rate you like at this stage because there are no settings to play with under OS/9.

For the CPS serial port connector I found a ribbon cable that I presume was belonging to an old PC joystick card with a female db-25 connector on one side and a standard pcb connector on the other one, and interfaced it to my PC with an external Null-Modem block.

Beaware that the example OS/9 commands at page 111-7 of the "OS/9 BASIC Documentation" The Mill user manual are mostly wrong.
To have a directory listing redirected to the serial port type DIR >/T1 , to have an OS/9 onscreen listing of what's coming in from the serial port type LIST /T1 , you'll see characters written on the remote terminal appear each CR typed.

Thanks Keatah for the clue about Asimov site and , please, tell me that "OP" story.
