Mountain Computer Music System

Calling SpeedyG,

I notice that you have on that amazing Applebox site, schematics and pcb layouts for the MC music system cards. Are the files available on your site if I wanted to make some of the boards? I could not seem to find them.
Would you be able to share them?
Someone on the AppleII Facebook page was looking to make some.

Thanks
Rob

Re: Mountain Computer Music System

Hello Rob,
the most stuff was performed while doing research for my alpha syntauri system
due to the fact that at my system the interface between keyboard and Apple was
missing.

Just as explained here in the related thread i recieved 2 months ago all the
pictures about the "missing link" to complete the pages.

If you scroll along the syntauri pages at one of the pages at the end there
is a downloadable file as PDF with all the stuff in one big kind of technical
manual ( including the circuitplans ).

At the end of this month I planed to order 2 "proto PCB's" from the later
keyboard interfacecard to complete my system and verify all results of the
pages. Then in the end of August i plan to publish the related Gerber-files
that will enable other users to order such cards....

Takes a bit time due to the fact that my situation is limited ....
I can only make progress that fast as i can afford it....

by the way calling by posting is rather unusual....
due to the fact that I'm member "calling" could be performed also by p.m. here....
in such case i get a email note that someone has dropped a p.m. here and
i check as soon as possible back here....

sincerely
SpeedyG

Thanks for the reply SpeedyG. Yes, there is a huge amount of work in this, really appreciate your efforts to document all of it.

Will look forward to you sharing the Gerber files when you get time to finish them in the future.

By the way if you examined that pages you might have recognized that that cards have allready been cloned
in former days by Apple Seed (Nuscope) in Canada ( but with small mistakes at the PCB that i marked in my pages )
and I'm sure you also recognized that some of the chips are a bit difficult to purchase resulting from obsolesence....
For example the AM6080 - there is a problem with faked chips from China....

Ok, I have read it all more thoroughly now. I had just assumed the parts would be OK to source. Looks like it won't be that easy.
