Hi, I'm currently looking to get a diagnostic disk to check my 1M "Memory Expansion Card" which I'm using in my Apple //e. Does anyone has have this disk and can send me a disk image, please? Many thanks Torsten - Germany - Berlin -

Is that memory expansion like

Is that memory expansion like a RAMWorks card (AUX slot) or a RAMFactor/Slinky (regular slot)?

I think the software that AE shipped with their cards back in the day is available on places like Asimov and it should work with a lot of clones of the AE boards.  I believe AE had a memory test for their card included with their software.

Hi... the card is placed at the AUX slot and is an original Apple card.

So not sure if any software from AE will work with.

I'm not familiar with any

I'm not familiar with any Apple supplied RAM card that fit in the AUX slot that was larger than 64k additional (for 128k total).  Do you know what the Apple part number or offiicial name of the card was?  The "Slinky" cards I am familiar with that Apple made went in a regular slot.

Many of the other RAM cards that fit in the AUX slot used the same addressing extension method beyond 64k that AE used, which is why AE's diagnostic software would work with them.  Unless the card that you have works dramatically different, then there is a possibility that the AE software will work.  Have you tried it to know for sure if it will or won't work?

I just managed it... the card

I just managed it... the card has an onboard diagnostic. I wasn't aware of until I read the manual found at the internet.

So it's just testing my card.

Howto:

Reboot the system

Type: CALL -151 [Enter]

Type: Cn0AG [Enter]

while n is the slot number the card is located in.

Can you post a link to the manual on the Internet?  I'd be interested in looking at it.

That's the manual for the

That's the manual for the "Slinky" card.  It goes in a regular slot, not the AUX slot and is similar to but not exactly the same as the AE RAMFactor.  The AUX slot is the 60 pin one located either to the far left side in front of the card on NTSC models or in front of slot 3 on some European models.

That type of memory card is

That type of memory card is often referred to as a "Slinky" card.  I don't know where that term came from, but they've been called that for years.
