I wanted to share my latest eBay find with y'all. Back in 2013 at KansasFest, I did a session on how to fix your Apple //e and I discussed some of the diagnostic cards that were available at the time. One of them was the dealer diagnostics card which has orange labels in the pictures below. I know this card very well since I made a replcia of it in 2018 and made it availble to the hobby community. It runs through a series of "APPTEST" like diagnostics on your Apple //e. However, I have never seen the part numbers on the ROMs of the one I purchased in this lot. (077-0130 and 077-0131) The french and German versions are are 077-0024 and 077-0025. THe french versions are 077-0023 and 077-0024. THe Englis versions are 077-0018 and 077-0019. I'll investigate further this weekend and post what I find. Perhaps an Apple internal only set?
Also part of the lot is the "Apple //e Final Test" card and the slot tested card. The interesting thing about this is that when I was finished with my session back in 2013, James Littlejohn came up to me and told me about a pair of "Functional Testing" cards he aquired off eBay that were super unique and they were indeeed. I have never seen anything like them. Until now that is. In the lot I purchased I picked up a set of "Final Test" cards that seem to have the same interfaces and chips on them that James' cards have. See the Functest and Slottest pictures below. These cards are the ones he picked up. THe interesting thing is that the layout of the cards are completely different and his have handles on them making me beleive that his was used much more heavily than the set I have. I have not plugged them in and I am going to carefully preserve the ROMs from all my cards this weekend.
The two yellowish cards, I have no idea on. The seller has a "serial port tester" available that is the same color as these two cards so I can only assume these might be some type of serial port diagnostics that are used in conjunction with the 25-pin serial cards he has available. It's not worth the $99 he is askign for that card to find out.
If there are any "Fritters" out there who can tell me more facts about any of these cards, I am all ears. If you designed any of these cards, I would like to interview for a piece I would write for KansasFest or some of the other newsletters.
If you have any questions, please ask. Except for "How much did you pay for these?" because I am embarassed to say I am a diagnostics and test card junkie and I really think I overpaid for these, but I just had to have them.
