Anyone know how to get the scratches out of a PowerBook G3 Wallstreet/Lombard/Pismo?????

The subject kinda explains it all...   I have several PowerBook G3s and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to get the scratches out of them?  Specifically the rubberized center parts.

Pictures
There are several more like this, but this pic is pretty representative of what I'm dealing with.  The inner area with the Apple Logo is covered with a rubberized coating.  It's a pretty common issue with these machines, but as far as I could see, no one's posted a real solution for these cosmetic issues.  The only exceptions are the two Wallstreets.  The bottoms appear to be backed in Aluminum.   Also, sorry it took me so long.  It took me a while to remember how to post pictures.

Try very fine grit sandpaper, starting with foo and working up to 2000 grit. Always sand in a circular motion.

I would not mind buying one of those G3s, as-is. I used to have one--the one with the orange tinted keys, but at some point I lost it. It might be fun to have another. I have TiBooks that I could trade if you are interested in those at all.

I'm not really interested in

I'm not really interested in parting with them at the moment.  Also, I only have one Lombard and Pismo complete at the moment, and only the Pismo is fully functional.  The rest of them are in pieces at the moment.
