Howdy,
I have a Motorola T2290 cell phone and it's somehow gotten locked on me. I've tried the code in the book, I've called my service provider, I've called Motorola, and they're all telling me that I have to get the phone reflashed. I was wondering if there is an equivalent to a CUDA on these phones, where I can just reset the whole thing and start from scratch. I've googled around for it, but to no avail. I have no idea what's going on with the stupid thing. I don't use it much, but it would be nice to be able to use it since I am paying for it.
Any help is always appreciated.
Thanks,
The Czar
Locked...
Like the keys are locked to prevent accidental dialing? Or locked like it froze and won't turn ON/OFF?
The lock code to one service provider, but thats just my guess.
Yeah, if you mean locked as in you want to take the phone to another provider you can get an unlock key from the internet. Search around there are quite a few forums where you can request a key.
The key has to be built from the serial number of the phone (what ever the technical term is KMIE or something) you can post your serial number and wait for someone to generate a code for you to use. (Don't post any other numbers though that can lead to bad bad things.)
Others sell this service for like 5 bucks on ebay.
I think you mean IMEI.
To access the programming menu on motorola phones, quickly press the following keys
MENU 0 7 3 8 8 7 *
It'll ask for a security code. If you don't have one set, enter all zeros.
Thanks Dr. Bob!
It worked! I put in that code and the phone came up just like the Dr. said it would. You saved me the better part of $40!
Thanks again,
