Apple ][+ running in Unreal Engine

Hi all, this forum has been invaluable for helping me work through the intricacies of the Apple ][ hardware, so I wanted to share some of the output. This is an emulation of an Apple ][+ running inside the Unreal Engine in realtime.

Will it Chopift?

The disk drive is emulating the drive motors and reading real DSK images without any alteration. It can also write back to them and then that gets serialized out to the real hard drive for later use. The drive motor sound and LED are all emulated correctly as well (though I'm missing the head moving sounds). The joystick in the video is also emulating the real hardware, so the PDL command can be used in BASIC just like the real thing. And of course Choplifter is playable!

This is all part of a bigger project I'm working on, but I thought I'd share and say thanks for the great wealth of knowledge on this site!

This is one of the most amazing simulations I've ever seen

This is one of the most amazing simulations I've ever seen with an Apple ][ !!

I would love to have this simulator if & when it gets released.  Most excellent! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! It was a lot of fun to put together and get working in the virtual world. It's going to be wrapped up into a puzzle game where you're using the Apple ][ to solve problems with BASIC. Sounds crazy  but I think it'll work.
